NO MUSIC DAY

How do.

This week’s show is something a little more than much different than the norm & will be coming at you from a slightly different angle than you’re perhaps used to from us here on that there The Waiting Room.

To that end, we have 4(!) studio guests this week, wibbling & wobbling around the idea of giving an opinion on such things as No Music Day, Musicals, TV Theme Tunes, Cartoon Music, Burlesque Nights, Rhys Ifans, & Live Music.

Them 4 shall be:

BoTWoTH, returning after a rather well received debut a few weeks back; Lou Noble, a well known Cardiff singer/songwriter & jazz guitarist; the legendary Mr. Nick Fisk, an old TWR co-host & 1990’s Baggy era / Stone Roses obsessive; &, Mr. Fisk’s current squeeze, Karen (second name never revealed), otherwise known as the devoted friend of Stephen Jenkins (we have no idea who he is, either) & she is possibly the maddest person we have ever met or had on the show.

Amongst the chatter & blather you shall get

* The Decemberists * Andrew Bird * Clem Snide * Tom Waits * Was Not Was * Jools Holland * The Divine Comedy * Spiritualized * The Smiths * Morrissey * KD Lang * Sting * Prince * Madonna * Radiohead * WASP * Dead Kennedys

& many more…

So, strap in, then, you, & make sure you go pee pee before we set off.

Dan Michaelson & The Coastguards in Session

Hello TLF.

TWoTH here. It’s been quite a slow-paced week here at DCHQ following DC’s return to our version of civilisation after culture-swapping with yours for over 3 weeks. This is chiefly due to some strange, lingering malaise that has befallen him.

ONE OFF NOSTALGIACAST

Hello You.

Firstly, apologies.

This week’s special one-off Nostalgiacast should have been on-line at the usual WOXY broadcast time. Unfortunately, during the recording of the show, we were visited by a tired & emotional Lloyd Robson who was, for want of a better phrase, ‘on one’.

This week, in your ever expanding musi-verse, ½DC + TWoTH had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Seattleite singer/songwriter Shenandoah Davis into the TWR studio to chat & also to record a mammoth session over at Offshore Music, Cardiff.

WOXY Music

Hello everyone, TWoTH here.

I’m writing this week’s post because DC is really quite ill at the moment.  This will also explain why everything (Facebook/Myspace/TWRHQ/WOXY/Twitter) hasn’t been updated with news of this week’s coming show. This is a long story, so go for a wee before we begin…

WOXY Music

iya.

This week’s clattering ridiculum includes, as you might have gathered from the above promo eye candy, a very special (some say ‘as in olympics’, some say ‘as in D.A.R.Y.L.‘) guest in the DCHQ studio in the shape & form of one Mr. Lloyd Robson.  Who hell he?  Well, he hell who is a rather respected Welsh poet, novelist, journalist, photograffiti artist & general bon vivant on the media/literary/arts scene.

He’s recently published (via Parthian) the excellent (& this isn’t bias because we know him quite well, it truly is thoroughly excellent) gonzo-style journal/autobiographical trawl through the pre-Hollywood history of Robert Mitchum, entitled Oh Dad! A Search for Robert Mitchum.
