Right then.
This week is our report(ish) on our recent foray into the wonder that was the Sŵn Festival — held in city-wide venues across Cardiff, Wales, UK between 22nd - 24th October.
Quite smart it were too.

Hello TLF.
TWoTH here. It’s been quite a slow-paced week here at DCHQ following DC’s return to our version of civilisation after culture-swapping with yours for over 3 weeks. This is chiefly due to some strange, lingering malaise that has befallen him.

Way back on May 12th at Cardiff’s Offshore Music Recording Studios, after being near thwarted by the city’s maze-like one way systems, Mumford & Sons turned up with a cheeky sparkle in their collective eye. A sparkle that hinted at the bite & barely muted fury they’d inject into a damn near perfect session, recorded in lightning quick time & impressing the studio engineers to exclaim it the best session they’d had the pleasure of to date.

This week, in your ever expanding musi-verse, ½DC + TWoTH had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Seattleite singer/songwriter Shenandoah Davis into the TWR studio to chat & also to record a mammoth session over at Offshore Music, Cardiff.

What, as ‘they’ say, Ho!
About a month ago ½DC + TWoTH trundled over to Bristol, England, for the weekend to see live & interview Dan Michaelson (of The Coastguards + Absentee). We set ourselves up in a swanky river facing hotel, spent the afternoon boozing it up on the deck of the Thekla ship venue, before catching up with a very tour-knackered Dan to knock off said interview for t’show.

Hello You.
Apologies for the delay in posting this one - I’m currently ensconced in Fredericksburg, VA & the internet connection at the (ahem) Quality Inn, where I am parking my arse for the next week or so, is, in a word, shite. It’s taken me 3 days to upload this week’s show (not to mention transferring next week’s brilliant show to WOXY, which includes a proper proper guest in the studio taking flak from our verbal nonsense). Still, it is genuinely worth the damn bastard wait.

Hello You.
This week’s show sees us recounting our very recent sojourn to the Fence Collective’s Homegame 6 alt.folk Festival in Anstruther, Fife, via a series of interviews & sessions captured on the hoof & in between our gallant quaffing of vast amounts of alcohol & boxes of famous fush n’ chups.

A few months back ½DC + TWoTH bussed up to Birmingham, England to interview 2 of TWR’s very favourite Swedish(-based) lady singer/songwriters: Ane Brun & Jennie Abrahamson.
Both interviews were carried out in not exactly perfect conditions — as soon as the record button was pressed the air conditioning system kicked in, producing this low, moaning background hum, & the off switch was elusive to even the venue owners.
Here we go again…

Hell’s teeth in the dentist chair, was this a sod of a show to pre-produce! Here’s why…
Last week, when playing at The Point in this here Cardiff, the delicious Ida Maria & the delightful V.V. Brown allowed one half of & Mr. Fisk into their company & minds for 20minutes or so each. Whereas one half of had the relative luxury, & fairly quiet locale, of V.V. Brown’s very plush tour van to gently float questions in her direction, Mr. Fisk decided the best place to interview Ida Maria was in the glass walled viewing gallery directly above the stage. Which was being sound checked for the evening’s gig.
