This time last week I was doing little by way of proper work & driving through the Nevada desert from San Francisco towards Salt Lake City. 13½fuckingHours, that was. Having been awake until 2am the previous evening & having been awakened with a phonecall at 6am asking if I was ready for breakfast yet.
Yes, then. It’s good to be back.
3 weeks is a long time to spend away from the comforts of one’s own meddling, so I hope you will allow me the space to have a wee bit of a moan on this week’s show — especially as a lot of it makes me sound like a total shit; an ungrateful & ageist, I’ll have you know, cock, & an all round pain in the arse/ass. Which, in translation, means it’s actually very funny when you look back on the catalogue of screw ups purportrated by one 50something man — he had no army, no minions, no gang of hep cats to corkscrew my plans. He did that all on his lonesome. It also means that your day will be 100% darn tootin’ brighter after you’ve been enveloped by the sordid tales of my consistent, shit-eating grin-stained bad luck; from the moment I left in a taxi to Cardiff Central Train Station, to the moment, 3 weeks later, when I got in another taxi back in Cardiff & arrived home. Stupefying, so it were.

When you say your first ever, do you mean the first podcast you’ve ever listened to, or the first The Waiting Room podcast? My sense of logic is plumbing for the latter, but as I have already witnessed you, young Tart, behaviourily are a bit arse-about-face. So, anything’s possible I guess.

Anyhoo, cheers for the use of the word quite before the word impressed — we certainly don’t want anybody falling over themselves with adoration for the blather we spew forth. But we do try & keep it light & fluffy, with topballs music each week.
Anyways, very many etcs for bothering to be curious enough about our little adventures to listen in. We do try & inte4ract as much as we can.

Fisk is indeed slated for a handful of appearances in the very near future (he’s been all Mr. Publisher & I’ve been all away & that for it to not be able to jigsaw recently), so keep them aimed this way for news.
Very glad you’re not the Ed, although for a moment I freaked. Lovely as he is I am sure he won’t take too kindly being ribbed in the way he has been.
