Good? Good.
This week’s offalling (ErrorFM, 10pm BST) is an experiment in a little bit of shushie, in that one half of (who is currently lazing his arse off over in that Canadaland for a few days) has spliced together a playlist of nothing but Instrumental (with the emphasis on mental) musics for eager ears.
There’s little or nothing by way of augmentation via hummings, whistlings, oohings or aahings (i.e. harmonizations with a lady mouth) so you’re going to have to make up your own lyrics for this one. On top of all that, one half of ne’er ever spaketh many wordage throughout the whole of the dangtastic thing. Yes, you read correct; he makes good on countless previous promises & remains mostly schtumn. It’s a fecking miracle is what it is.
Consider it a soundtrack for unwinding, wherever said unwinding may be required, then, with little interruption from the clattered mouth nasty boy.
Ta-Ta, then, ’till next week when Ms Hope Eternal is back at the co-helm.

Now in Salt Lake City after a 13HR car trip from San Francisco - Nevada is a wonderful, wonderful landscape to get all redneck/mountain man sniper paranoid in eh?
Exhausted. Thoroughly exhausted. And I wasn’t even driving.
We scattered from the grim hotel in Portland at 6am after my colleague was woken by mice running over his head & flea bites on his ankles. The evening before an irate Dutch guy was screaming at the management because his room was infested with fleas - his evidence being a pillow teeming with the little fuckers. I got away unbit, but my colleague was willied enough to call me at stupid o’clock to say ‘we’re outta here’.
Glad you enjoyed the show.

I hate fleas, that must have been a 4 star hotel in Portland, did they provide complimentary pint size bottles of say Mogen David 20-20 (MadDog), maybe a fine 2008 Bali High? Did the hotel Clerk look like the person pictured in the 07-05-08 cover? There must have been a PETA ( People for the ethical treament of animals) convention staying at your hotel with their filthy pets. Think of the bright side. you are making memories. Better get some DDT and de-louse before bringing your equipment home to TWOTH, fleas, the gift that keeps on giving. Glad you are enjoying the USA

Thoroughly enjoying it, indeed. Mine eyes hath been opened a little wider on this trip - then positively squished shut by all the early mornings (6am breakfasts), countless internal flights, all-day car drives & appointments dotted one end of a county/state to another, & stupid late nights (1am+), which have hardly involved any alcohol consumption at all. I’m freakin’ exhausted, dude.
I’ve learnt a whole lot more about this place & how it ticks from town to town on this trip than in all the years I’ve been traveling here. Some of it bad, some of it frightening, some of it comical, most all entirely informative & head-noddingly satisfying. That, of course, will all keep for an upcoming show.
The hotel in SF (NOT my first choice but by the time I trawled the net for a suitably located place for the duration everywhere was booked or ridiculously overpriced - c’est la vie) was, perhaps, the worst place I have ever stayed on the road. Even worse than the place in Portland, which at least had ashtrays. The SF place advised me to fill a plastic cup with water & use that…

YES! the US of A is all that and more, I think that you might be more at home in America’s heartland where the salt of the earth, sane Americans live and work, keeping the lights turned on. There is a lot of wackiness on both coasts, not sure why.
Check your hotel bill carefully, make absolutely certain that they did not charge you for the fleas, (bedbugs are definitly an extra charge), make sure the rash from the toilet seat clears up in a day or two , otherwise see a doctor.
If you want to get some good info regarding travel in the western US, watch a few Rob Zombie movies, put some Primus on the 8 track too. Yes America is big and diverse, full of screwballs of every variety who are free to do as they choose. Thats why we like it here and no one is moving except Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow (fortunately). Even the ultimate turds wrapped in skin like Barbara Streisand, and Alec Baldwin won’t leave (unfortunately).
Great show, each time I listen, I find more to hear. Are there any Popul Vuh tracks embedded in this show? Thought that I heard three tracks performed by you and TWOTH, must listen again carefully. hh
